Woodcreek High School will host a basketball camp in late June for girls who will be in the first through 10th grade next school year. The Lady Timberwolves Fundamental Basketball Camp will stress the fundamentals of basketball and give athletes an idea of what skills they will need to compete at the high school level. The camp will provide excellent instruction and drill work to improve and challenge all ability levels. Skills taught will include footwork, shooting, ball handling, passing, post play, guard play, rebounding and team defense. Games and competitions will also be part of the festivities. The camp will be held June 21-24 in the Woodcreek High gymnasium, with first through fourth graders attending for half of the day (8:30 to 11:30 a.m.), while older girls spend the full day (8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at the camp. Players will be divided by age for most of the drills and games. The camp is run by the Woodcreek High School basketball coaching staff including varsity coach Raymond Beck. He will be assisted by his coaching staff along with current and former Timberwolf players. The gym will be open at 8 a.m. each day, and the snack bar will be open for those who choose to purchase lunch. It is also permissible to bring lunch. Cost of the camp is $50 for the half-day attendees, and $100 for the full day if pre-registered. Costs at the door will be $65 and $125.
