The spectacular high school basketball career of Roseville High's Katie Simon came to an end Tuesday night at Oakmont High. The Nebraska-bound 6-foot-2 center scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in leading her team to a 59-46 season-ending win over the host Vikings. The Tigers used a big third quarter to pull away after clinging to a 30-27 halftime lead. A 17-6 scoring advantage in that decisive stanza gave Roseville some breathing room as they came down the stretch. Roseville point guard Raina Loya scored nine points, while Allison Campbell added eight along with four boards and five steals. Sabrina Ali paced the Vikings with nine points and six rebounds and Jessica Scott scored eight and pulled down seven boards. With the bye later in the week, the win ends Roseville's season at 4-8 in the Sierra Foothill League (10-16 overall). Oakmont (1-10, 11-15) will finish off its campaign when it hosts Nevada Union (6-5, 13-12) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.
