For devoted fans of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, it’s been a long five years. Locals who enjoy the deep-fried, glazed sweet treat can mourn no more as an Albuquerque-based franchisee plans to re-open the Krispy Kreme store in Roseville on Sept. 20. Since closing its doors in October 2006, the Krispy Kreme store, located at 10317 Fairway Drive in the Highland Reserve Marketplace, has sat vacant. It will soon see new life, as the franchise company Hot Glazed Enchantment will hold a job fair Tuesday for the new Krispy Kreme store and plans to hire 70 new employees for full- and part-time positions. “We’re looking for managers, supervisors, assistant managers, general managers, crew members, production, everybody,” said Jason Sansom, Hot Glazed Enchantment director of operations. Sansom said the company is especially looking for previous Krispy Kreme employees who may have worked at locations in the area and are familiar with the company’s operations. The new store will be a factory store, which means all the doughnuts will be made fresh daily on site, according to a news release. This will be the third Krispy Kreme store for the franchise company in California, and its sixth store overall. Hot Glazed Enchantment also owns two stores in Albuquerque and one in Mesa, Ariz. Sansom said the company has plans to open more stores in Northern California, but it is still researching locations. “We have a vision and we are taking it one step at a time until that vision is reality,” he said.
