Kaiser Permanente employees Laura Moreno, Debbie Bridgham and Pamela Emmert spent a day off raking leaves at Placer ARC’s art studio in Roseville as part of the health provider’s ninth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Jan. 21.

They were joined by more than 50 other physicians, staff and family members who gave up their holiday to lend a helping hand. Volunteers pruned, scrubbed, disinfected, organized and painted at Studio 700 Center for the Arts and the Roseville Adult Center.

“I like to volunteer, especially for organizations in our community that support those with special needs,” said Registered Nurse Carmen Holloway.
