The final festivities in Roseville High School's Centennial Celebration take place Friday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 16.

The celebration begins with the homecoming parade, followed by the varsity football game against Oakmont High School - complete with a fireworks display - on Friday. On Sunday, alumni, current students, teachers, staff and their families are invited to attend a picnic at Woodbridge Park in Roseville. Meanwhile, the campus will be open for tours, music, historic slide shows and student exhibits.

The campus open house was rescheduled to prevent a conflict with the homecoming dance, which takes place Saturday, Sept. 15.

These events wrap up several months of festivities organized by the Roseville High School Alumni Association to commemorate their school's 100th anniversary.

The local high school district began in 1912 when 85 students - including a handful of girls - took classes at the Golden Eagle Hotel. Students back then read books at Carnegie Library, which is also celebrating its centennial this year.

Roseville Union High School was constructed in 1915 and classes began in January 2016. Seniors from the 2011-12 school year were recognized as the school's 100th graduating class.
