Jamie Ingram, who in four seasons led Granite Bay High School’s girls volleyball team to a 101-40 record, was hired as the new coach at William Jessup University, according to a news release Friday.

Jessup Athletic Director Farnum Smith announced the hiring of Ingram, who led Granite Bay to records of 15-12 in 2009, 21-13 in 2010, 24-8 in 2011 and 41-7 last fall, when the Grizzlies won the Sierra Foothill League championship and advanced to the Northern California Regional Division I final against St. Francis. Granite Bay advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs in three of Ingram’s four seasons.

“We are blessed to be able to have someone of Jamie’s ability join the Warriors athletic department,” Smith was quoted as saying in a statement. “Having grown up as a coach’s daughter, she has the passion and heart to lead our volleyball program to the next level.  She understands what it takes to be successful both on and off the court.”

Ingram was an assistant coach at Cal State East Bay in Hayward from 2003-05 and the head coach at Ohlone College in Fremont from 2005-07. Cal State East Bay was 63-5 during Ingram’s time.

“I am thankful and excited for the opportunity to become the head volleyball coach at William Jessup University,” Ingram, a two-time SFL coach of the year, said in a statement. “It’s exciting to become part of the Jessup family and to join the great things that are going on at the university. I am blessed to be coaching back at the college level.”
