Five-time USAC champion Tony Hunt of Lincoln is looking forward to racing Saturday at All American Speedway. Hunt won the last time he raced in Roseville, on June 17. “It’s a pretty racy track,” Hunt said. “It’s close competition. You’ve got to have your car right to get around at AAS. It’s a challenging racetrack.” Hunt is the leader in USAC points. He has three wins in eight races this year and hasn’t finished out of the top three. Hunt has 29 career Sprint Car victories. Indianapolis 500 veteran Davey Hamilton will drive Hunt’s second car in the 50-lap main event at All American. Hamilton has won championships in Super Modified cars and is a three-time winner of the famed Copper World Classic. Hamilton competed on the IndyCar circuit from 1996-2001, but his life changed after a crash at Texas Motor Speedway in which he nearly lost his feet and legs. After 21 operations and two years of rehabilitation, Hamilton raced in the 2007 Indy 500. Hamilton competed in this year’s Indy 500 but was involved in a crash that ended his day on the first lap. Since 2003, Hamilton has been the preferred driver of the Indy Racing Experience, a two-seater Indy car in which fans can take rides at tracks throughout the United States. He also provides analysis for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network. ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY What: Saturday’s program features NCMA Sprint Cars, Legends of the Pacific and Ford Focus Midgets.
