Go ahead, have a drink of milk on Granite Bay High School’s football team.

Crystal Creamery is honoring Sac-Joaquin Section football champions with commemorative milk cartons, and they’re being stocked today on shelves in stores that carry Crystal products, including Nugget Markets, Food 4 Less and CVS pharmacy.

CIF Division I state champion Granite Bay, Division IV state champ Modesto-Central Catholic and NorCal Regional Division II champ Oakdale each have their own carton. Granite Bay’s carton features the team helmet and lists its Division I section, NorCal Regional and CIF state championships.

Granite Bay and Central Catholic are honored on cartons containing homogenized milk. Oakdale is on reduced fat cartons. Folsom, Le Grand and Stockton-Brookside Christian, section champs in Divisions II, V and VI, are featured together on reduced fat cartons.

Crystal Creamery officials broke out the milk cartons early Friday morning in advanced weight training, a class of mostly football players taught by football coach Ernie Cooper.

“It’s pretty cool. It’s always an achievement to get a brand on something,” said junior Dustin Brafford, working out with Josh Hubbard and Drew Toso.

Mark Perez, key account manager with Crystal Creamery, said there would be 10,000 half-gallon cartons of all four models.

“Crystal Creamery has been around since 1901,” Perez said. “We just wanted to let them know we want them to succeed.”
