The 47th annual Roseville Holiday Parade, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, will honor longtime organizer and city icon Sylvia Besana. The parade, organized by the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 10 a.m. on Vernon Street in downtown Roseville. Besana, who worked tirelessly for the community of Roseville, passed away earlier this year. The parade was her pinnacle event each year. To pay tribute to her, the Roseville Chamber of Commerce board of directors voted unanimously to name the parade in her honor. This year’s grand marshals will be Besana’s husband Fred, her son Fred Besana, Jr. and her grandson Adam Besana. As always, Santa will make a special early appearance on Vernon Street to kick off the holiday season. The Sylvia Besana Holiday Parade is presented by the chamber, the city of Roseville and The Press-Tribune. On parade day the Magic Circle Theatre will be opening its Roseville theater at 241 Vernon St., for a visit with Santa from 8-10 a.m. at no charge. Breakfast will be available for purchase. Also new this year is a craft fair to be located in the civic center parking lot, 311 Vernon St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Information and applications for parade sponsorships, parade entries and the craft fair are available on the chamber’s Web site, www.rosevillechamber.com or by calling 783-8136.
