The Sac-Joaquin Section singles and doubles tennis championships belong to Granite Bay High School this season.

Twin sisters Chloe and Lily Forlini won their third doubles title in a row with a straight-set victory over the Roseville duo of Ada Ukaegbu and Bianca Luna, and Kammy Kecki completed a four-match run to win her first section singles championship Friday at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club.

“The Forlinis are just so solid together,” Roseville coach Donny Nush said after the twins defeated Ukaegbu and Luna 6-4, 6-3. “They work so well together, and they were just making my girls make some mistakes at the net.”

The top-seeded Forlinis advanced to the final with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over No. 3 Bethany Caldwell and Angela Alupoaie of Bella Vista. Ukaegbu and Luna, seeded second, came back to beat No. 4 Olga Yulayeva and Alice Ni of Mira Loma 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the other semifinal.

Kecki, the No. 2 seed, defeated No. 3 Carolina Chernyetsky of El Camino 6-2, 6-1 in the semifinals and No. 4 Rachel Putty of Bella Vista 6-3, 6-1 in the final. Putty hasn’t lost a Capital Valley Conference match in three years.

Kecki was a section finalist as a freshman in 2009. She lost to older sister Kara Kecki in the final. Kara, the top seed for this year’s tournament, won her first two matches Thursday but had a commitment Friday and didn’t play. Putty won their semifinal in a walkover.

The new champion said the matches are never good when Kecki meets Kecki.

“Neither of us are very into it,” Kammy Kecki said. “It’s never like exciting tennis.”

She was happy the Grizzlies took all the hardware back to their Granite Bay campus.

“I’m just happy we all won,” Kecki said. “It’s cool to represent the school like that.”
