Grizzlies dominate court, but Oakmont steals a match

In a rare occurrence Tuesday, the Granite Bay High girls tennis team dropped a match as it knocked off Oakmont 8-1. The Grizzlies have become accustomed to beating their Sierra Foothill League opponents in nine-match sweeps, but in this one, Oakmont’s No. 1 doubles team, Jen Gong and Kayla Powers won a 6-2, 6-3 verdict for the Vikings’ lone win. Granite Bay’s Karolina Kecki won the No. 1 singles against Oakmont’s Jelena Kalicacnin 6-0, 6-1.
