Grizzlies close dual season with win over Roseville
By: Staff Report
A dominating performance in both the lightest and heaviest weight classes carried the Granite Bay High wrestling team to a regular season-ending dual meet victory over Roseville. The Grizzlies got big wins from Andrew Broadland at 114 pounds, Ian Mook (132), Adam Godbey (173), William Anderson (191) and Steven Schleicher (217). All five wrestlers pinned their opponents. Daniel Flinders (121), Adam Wagner (147) and Charlie Gordon (162) were also winners by decision for Granite Bay. The Grizzlies also picked up 12 points by way of two forfeit wins. "Our kids are doing a very nice job of hitting their stride," said Granite Bay coach Mike Lynch. "We wrestled very well tonight, showing strong progress up and down the whole lineup. We are eagerly anticipating advancing to the SFL Tournament next week and hope to qualify plenty of wrestlers for the Division II SJS Section Tournament and beyond. This was a great way to finish out our dual meet season for the year and gives us real good momentum." It was a rough day overall for Roseville, but there were some bright spots in the middle divisions. Matt Conley (127), Anthony Keefe (137) and Dylan Jankovich (142) were all Tiger winners by way of the pin, and Tyler Ash (154) won an overtime decision.
