With three golfers within one stroke of the winning number, the Granite Bay High boys golf team put together a solid performance in beating Roseville 184-205 Thursday at Granite Bay Country Club. The Grizzlies’ Nick Adams was the individual medalist, shooting an even-par 35 for the nine-hole event. That result was one shot better than a pair of his teammates, Alex Gibbs and Mitch Armstrong as well as Roseville’s low scorer, Wally Hix. Roseville’s Kevin Ponath carded a three-over par 38, as did Granite Bay’s Derek Thacker and Donny Knoll of the Grizzlies was the other golfer under 40, with a 39. Nick Anderson of Roseville (41) and Brian Bertilino of Granite Bay (42) also posted solid rounds of golf in the Sierra Foothill League dual match.
