Granite Bay's Brooke Holt sets pace at SFL cross country meet

Woodcreek easily takes girls' team title

Granite Bay’s Brooke Holt out kicked Courtney Crosta of Woodcreek to claim the Sierra Foothill League’s girls’ title in the final league meet of the season. Holt covered the 5K course in 18:07, giving her a sweep of the three SFL meets this year. As consistent as Holt’s individual success has been, the Woodcreek team was just as impressive, locking up the SFL league title with its third team victory of the season. Crosta , who finished in 18:17, was joined by a trio of Lady Timberwolves in the individual top 10, as Stephanie Romo finished third (18:37), Amanda McNabb came in eighth (19:03) and Sami Gomez was 10th (19:05). No other team was close to Woodcreek in the team totals, as Del Oro finished a distant second, followed by Granite Bay. Kristine Lozoya of Oakmont (18:45) finished fourth, and her Lady Viking teammate Stacy Haack (18:56) was sixth, while Roseville’s Catherine Crisp (18:52) and Granite Bay’s Christine Zavesky (19:01) also cracked the top 10.
