Keevan Harding, a senior at Granite Bay High School, and member of Boy Scout Troop No. 48 in Granite Bay, has earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held on March 15 to honor his achievement. Keevan is the son of Curtis and Cheryl Harding of Granite Bay. Keevan began his career in Boy Scouting as a Tiger Cub in kindergarten and advanced to Boy Scouts. He has been an active member of Troop 48, participating in many leadership positions. Eagle Scout is the highest award given in Boy Scouts. Only about two out of 100 Scouts achieve this rank. The requirements for Eagle include earning 21 designated merit badges, demonstrating Scout spirit, service and leadership. This includes an extensive community service project. Harding’s project was designing, constructing and installing new shelving for the art docent program at Greenhills Elementary School in Granite Bay. He is planning to attend a four-year college following graduation from high school.
