Granite Bay High School’s boys water polo team lost to Clovis North 10-9 in sudden death in the championship game of the Woodcreek Tournament on Saturday at the Roseville Aquatics Complex.
Max Vigeant scored five goals each in blowout victories over Bella Vista 16-3 and Sonora 17-6 on Friday and a 13-3 defeat of Oak Ridge on Saturday. Nathan Pinkney totaled 13 goals in the three matches. Chase Cooper totaled five goals in the Bella Vista and Sonora games, and Kevin Wylder totaled five against Oak Ridge, Bella Vista and Sonora.
Tyler Kinney had eight blocks against Oak Ridge, and Max Munsell blocked four shots against Bella Vista.
Granite Bay defeated Woodcreek 18-9 on Thursday in a Sierra Foothill League game at the aquatics complex. Pinkney scored six goals and Vigeant five.
Girls water polo
Granite Bay 9, Woodcreek 3 — The Grizzlies (7-1 overall, 2-1 SFL) took a 5-0 halftime lead, and goalie Sara Northam blocked seven shots and had two steals at the aquatics complex.
Grace Reego scored all three of her goals in the first half. Kat Conen and Hayley McAvoy scored two each, and Lia Patrinellis and Megan Plank had one goal apiece.
Granite Bay will play at Nevada Union on Tuesday.
