Granite Bay grads Anderson, Bramow lead Jessup over Simpson

William Jessup University received 37 total points from Granite Bay High School graduates Anthony Anderson and Preston Bramow in an 81-67 California Pacific Conference victory over Simpson on Thursday.

Anderson made 6 of 9 three-point attempts and led the Warriors (7-13 overall, 2-3 CalPac) with 22 points. Bramow scored 15 points, and Jordan Wilson of Rocklin scored 11.

Jessup lost to Pacific Union 53-45 on Saturday night in Angwin. Anderson led the Warriors with 14 points. Wilson had 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Jessup will play host to UC Merced at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and begin the second round of league play Saturday night at home against Holy Names.

Top-ranked 184-pounder is on Loder’s schedule

Granite Bay graduate Ryan Loder improved to 24-1 with a 16-2 decision over Wisconsin opponent Timmy McCall, helping the University of Northern Iowa defeat the Badgers 25-15 in a dual meet last week. It was the Panthers’ first dual victory over Wisconsin in nine years.

Loder, ranked sixth in the nation at 184 pounds, is 7-0 in duals heading into matches against Utah on Friday and Wyoming on Sunday.

Wyoming’s 184-pounder is No. 1-ranked Joe LeBlanc. Loder defeated LeBlanc, a three-time All-American, 4-3 in the NCAA Western Regional final last season en route to a berth in the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia.

* Margo Anthony used a 9-iron to score a hole in one on the 82-yard 17th hole at Woodcreek Golf Club.

* David Gonzales aced No. 8 at Woodcreek, playing 109 yards, with an 8-iron.

* John Runge aced the 264-yard par-4 12th hole at Woodcreek with a driver.
