Get poetic for Roseville Library

Poetry contest celebrates public library organization's 40th anniversary

The Friends of the Roseville Public Library is sponsoring a poetry contest celebrating the organization’s 40th anniversary.

“The Fab Forty Poetry Contest 2013” is open to all unpublished poets aged 19 and older. Prizes will be awarded – $75 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. Two honorable mention poets will receive certificates. William O’Daly, Auburn poet and translator of Pablo Neruda’s poetry, will judge the contest.

 Poets can enter up to three sets of three poems each for an entry fee of $15 per set. The deadline is April 2. Contest rules are available at the Downtown Roseville Library, 225 Taylor St.; Martha Riley Library, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd.; and the Maidu Library, 1530 Maidu Drive. Or, visit
