Gathering Inn has year of uninterrupted service

The Gathering Inn, a homeless shelter that serves South Placer County, has concluded its first full year of uninterrupted service. The program, supported by more than 50 local churches and more than 1,500 volunteers, served 436 guests with warm meals, a shower, clean clothes, safe sleeping conditions and programs to aid in rehabilitation. More than 15,733 meals and bed nights, an increase of 123 percent from previous years, were provided for homeless individuals. The Gathering Inn is seeking help from the public with a plan called the $25 for 12 program. Individuals, families, organizations and businesses are urged to give a little to help a lot. The $25 for 12 programs asks for a commitment of $25 for 12 months, which comes out to 83 cents per day Send your checks to TGI, P.O.
