Led by sensational freshman golfer, Paige Lee, who shot a 39, the Granite Bay High girls golf team was 36 shots better than Roseville Tuesday at the Granite Bay Golf Club. The Grizzlies won the Sierra Foothill League match 241-277. Roseville’s Michaela Gobron (42) was three strokes behind Lee on the individual leaderboard, but it was the depth of Granite Bay that carried the day. Kelly Steindorf carded a 44 as the Grizzlies’ second-best player, and Granite Bay’s McKenzie Gainer, who posted a 50, was the only other golfer at or below that number. The Grizzlies are back on the home course again Wednesday, hosting Oakmont and its fantastic freshman Madelin Gedeon and Roseville hosts Woodcreek at Sierra View Country Club.
