Four in a row for Roseville Jr. Pee Wees; Granite Bay next

Big plays on offense and three fumble recoveries helped the host Roseville Junior Tigers roll over Del Campo 38-0 on Saturday in a Sierra Valley USA Football and Cheer Junior Pee Wee game.

It was the fourth consecutive victory for Roseville (5-1). Del Campo fell to 0-5.
David Chambers stripped the ball from a Del Campo running back and returned the fumble 60 yards for a touchdown. Joshua Noa and Tyler Price also recovered fumbles.

Parker Henry had a 65-yard sweep for a touchdown on his way to 130 yards rushing, his fourth game in a row with more than 100 yards, and TJ Nichols broke through four tacklers for a 40-yard score. The Tigers rushed for 290 yards. Carson Blatnick also threw for a touchdown.

Roseville’s defense had six tackles for a loss of yardage. Noa led the Tigers with six tackles, and Jordan Susbilla had five. Alex Rodriguez made four tackles and Vince Jordan and Griffin Ruddell three each.

Roseville plays at Granite Bay (4-1) on Saturday.

Folsom 6, Woodcreek 0 — The Timberwolves (2-3) moved the ball but couldn’t score, and Folsom (5-0) made a touchdown in the first half stand.

Hunter Silva had two sacks for Woodcreek, and Brock Thawley had an interception. Christopher Osby and Nate Riffie each had seven tackles.

On offense, Osby had runs of 38 and 26 yards, and Daniel Susac completed passes of 28 and 23 yards to Thawley.

Pee Wees

Granite Bay 24, Nevada Union 6 — The Grizzlies came up big on defense late with an interception by Zach Grable and a fumble caused by Blake Peterson and recovered by Blake D’Souza.

Granite Bay scored in the second quarter on a 35-yard keeper by Josh Farr, and Doug Mitchell kicked his first of three two-point conversions for an 8-0 lead. Nevada Union scored to make it 8-6, but Peterson went off tackle for a two-yard touchdown run with 11 seconds left in the first half, and the Grizzlies led 16-6.

Noah Slate blasted through the line for a one-yard run with 3:59 left in the game for Granite Bay’s final touchdown.

“Nevada Union came to play, but in the end, our defense held up,” Grizzlies head coach Jeff Powers said.


Roseville 14, Del Campo 8 — The Tigers improved to 7-0 and will play at Granite Bay on Saturday.

Mighty Mites

Roseville 2 TDs, Del Campo 1 TD — Jaxon Winkler, Colton Howell, Blake Harris, James Dunger and Hayden Figueroa paved the way for a 60-yard run by Jackson Shedd, and Jadon Groves and Brandon Eastman hooked up for a 55-yard touchdown.

Roseville’s defense had a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter. Eastman had an interception, and Perry Payne recovered a fumble.
