Childhood cancer affects more than 12,000 children every year in the United States. About 3,000 of these kids diagnosed each year will not survive. But these numbers actually extend much wider, encompassing thousands of parents, siblings and friends who are also impacted by this devastating disease. The Keaton Raphael Memorial provides informational, emotional and financial support to families hit by childhood cancer. The Roseville-based nonprofit organization also raises money for research. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and The Fountains at Roseville is once again helping raise funds for the Keaton Raphael Memorial. Throughout the month, The Fountains and several of its retailers and event sponsors, will offer opportunities for customers to donate to this cause. “We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Keaton Raphael Memorial again this year to support them in their effort to raise awareness and funds during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month,” said Fountains General Manager Gloria Wright in a press release. “We are dedicated to supporting causes that help children in our community. We are honored to be able to share our resources and support them.” Keaton Raphael Memorial Executive Director Robyn Raphael said the organization’s objective during September is to spotlight childhood cancer issues, raise awareness and stimulate community action.
