With all the antics going on between the top four drivers in the Late Model race at All American Speedway Saturday night, Matt Scott was able to keep a cool head.

Scott was patient and was rewarded with a win in the 50-lap feature race.

"There was a lot of stuff going on behind me and I just had to stay patient and let everything work itself out,” Scott said. “I got tagged a couple of times going into the corner, and I started getting a little angry, but I smoothed out.”

At the green flag, Jonathan Mawhinney took the lead, and by lap three Bobby Butler had moved up to second.  On lap five Butler took the lead from Mawhinney, and by lap six, Scott had moved up to second.  There was a lot of bumping going on between the top four cars.

On lap 14 Grewohl passed Scott for second.  Butler, Bobby Grewohl, Scott, and Mawhinney were running nose-to-tail, bouncing off each other. Butler and Grewohl were racing each other hard when they got together between turns three and four, causing minor damage to both cars.

That’s when the fireworks really began.

The track was under a caution and the pace truck had come out to lead the field.  Butler waited for Grewohl to come around and then drove into him hard.  Butler then ran through the grass and back out on the track barely missing the pace truck and an official.

He exited the track and was done for the night.

On the restart, Scott got the lead with Mawhinney running second.Ron Chunn and Chris Scribner got together, and then Chunn spun across turn one and was hit by Scribner again. Scribner exited the track with damage to his car.  On the restart, Chunn and Tyler Thomas got together between turns one and two and Chunn's car had to be towed off the track.

After another restart, Scott and Mawhinney raced side-by-side, then Scott took the lead on lap 34 and never looked back. Michelle Nagai battled Justin Henry for fourth and she got the spot. It was a battle between Grewohl and Mawhinney for second with Grewohl beating Mawhinney across the finish line by a hair.
