Eureka Wildcats 11U advance to NorCal State Cup final
The Eureka Wildcats will play Santa Clara Sporting 99G White on Saturday in the final of the NorCal State Cup.
Jasmyne Dunn scored eight goals in two matches as the Wildcats defeated the Santa Cruz County Breakers 99G 5-1 and the E.C. United Soccer Club Fury 6-2 last weekend.
Dunn scored three goals and Scout Sanders two against the Breakers. Dunn had five goals and Hannah Bonfils one against the Fury.
The Wildcats advanced to the semifinals by defeating the Alliance Football Club of Hayward 5-2 and the Santa Rosa Tsunami 4-1 on Dec. 4.
Bonfils recorded a hat trick with three goals, and Dunn and Jazzlyn Venkataya scored one each against Alliance FC.
Bonfils scored two goals against the Tsunami. Dunn and Sanders scored one apiece.
The Keiki Kickers finished their season by playing in the Soccerfest Tournament and defeated the Landsharks 2-0 in their last game with teammate Kylie Nguyen in attendance. The Kickers dedicated their season to Kylie, who wasn’t able to play after being diagnosed with leukemia.
Gracie Harada took a controlled ball the length of the field and scored a goal, and Summer Frank scored the other goal.
Earlier, the Keiki Kickers defeated the Iron Roses 1-0 on a goal by Emily Martin.
The Kickers also tied the Ninja Cats 0-0 in a match that featured the return of Annika Gresko from a broken arm. Isabel Ronald, Ashley Rice and Sara Acevedo helped defend the goal in the shutout.
Another 0-0 game followed against The Score, which didn’t with Megan Huber in goal for the Kickers. Ainslee Rice, Makenzie Towle and Madison Pearson contributed to the defensive effort in the shutout.
