Eureka soccer teams dominate Blast Off

Three Eureka Soccer Club teams captured their age group championships in the 13th annual Eureka Soccer Hot August Blast Off last weekend at venues in Roseville and Granite Bay. In the finals, the Eureka Warriors beat Sunrise United 3-0 in U19 boys, the Eureka Flames defeated Juventis Diamante 4-3 (penalty kicks) in U14 girls, and the Eureka Express beat the Vacaville Thunderbirds 1-0 in U12 girls. Also, the Rocklin Harmony won the U19 girls division on total points over the Roseville Cyclones, the West Sacramento Los Amigos topped the Eureka Galaxy 1-0 in U16 boys, the Orangevale Crush beat the Sierra Strikers 1-0 (penalty kicks) in U16 girls, Galt United defeated the Fair Oaks Arsenal 4-0 in U14 boys, and the Elk Grove Scorpions captured the U12 boys title with a 3-0 victory over the Rocklin Trouble. Eureka U11 Wildcats shut out Sac United Sydney Schreiner and Nicole Daley anchored a defense that helped goaltender Katie Hunter record a shutout as the Eureka Wildcats defeated the Sacramento United Red Blaze 2-0 on Sunday in an under-11 girls soccer match. Jasmyne Dunn and Hannah Bonfils scored for the Wildcats.
