Elks to host free throw competition

Roseville Elks Lodge No. 2248 has announced a local Hoop Shoot free throw contest on Sat., Dec. 5 at Kaseberg Elementary School, 1040 Main St. in Roseville. There is no charge for participation in the contest. Competition for eight and nine-year-olds will be at 1 p.m., 10 and 11-year-olds at 2 p.m. and 12 and 13-year-olds at 3 p.m. Sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, the Hoop Shoot is the largest non-commercial co-educational sports program in America. Nationwide more than 3 million boys and girls ages 8 -13 participate through local, state, regional and national levels. The national winners will have their names enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame. This program builds character while promoting integrity, hard work, quality family time and good sportsmanship.
