With college scouts looking on, Roseville’s E-Time Hoops 16-and-under boys basketball team stole the show, winning the 38-team Rumble in the Bay tournament. The squad is made up of players from Woodcreek, Oakmont and Center high schools. John Ade of Oakmont was the tournament MVP, as the 6-foot-6 post player put his defensive and offensive skills on display. Woodcreek’s Jamie Geyer and Devin Murphy also earned all-tourney honors. The event, which drew teams from all around the western United States, involved a three-game pool play format leading to a single-elimination run for the title. The Roseville club was 2-1 in pool play, and then ran off five straight wins to go from a second seed to lifting the trophy. John Peska came up big in the title game, a 69-50 rout of High Intensity from the Bay Area. The group will be back in action at a number of tournaments in places from Las Vegas to Los Angeles throughout the month of July.
