-A +A
No motorists were arrested for driving under the influence at a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint in Roseville Friday night. The Roseville Police Department held the checkpoint on Douglas Boulevard near Sierra Gardens Drive. One person was arrested on outstanding warrants for driving without a license and driving while suspended, and another person was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, driving on a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. The checkpoint was part of Placer County’s Avoid the 7 DUI task force, a countywide effort aimed at cracking down on impaired driving through Sept. 5. Other checkpoints, multi-agency DUI Task Force operations and local saturation patrols will continue through Labor Day weekend, police said. The task force will conduct DUI saturation patrols in the city of Rocklin on Aug. 26, and in the city of Lincoln on Saturday, Aug. 27. It will be back in Roseville conducting saturation patrols on Friday, Sept. 2 and a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint will be conducted on Foresthill Road in Auburn on Sept. 3.
