Douglas Boulevard-Lakeland/Mooney Drive project to be discussed by MAC

The Granite Bay Municipal Advisory Council will meet today at 7 p.m. at the Eureka Union School District Office located at 5455 Eureka Road in Granite Bay. Items discussed will include the Douglas Boulevard and Lakeland/Mooney Drive Imp-rovement Project. Kellen C. Prindiville with the Placer County Department of Public Works will present the proposed design that seeks to improve the intersection’s safety by widening Douglas Boulevard to include left turn pockets in both the east and westbound directions. The project will also update the signal poles and mast arms to current standards and provide proper lighting for the intersection. The project is funded by Proposition 1B funds and the bid package is approximately 90 percent complete. An update of the Cook Road and Miner’s Ravine Bridge Replacement Project will also be presented. The project is located near the intersection of Dick Cook Road and Auburn-Folsom Boulevard and will include a bridge replacement and widening of Dick Cook Road near the bridge. Ken Grehm, a Placer County Department of Public Works representative, will present an update on efforts to secure a $1 million federal grant to fund path and landscape improvements along Douglas Boulevard.
