Placer County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men Wednesday night for a series of Granite Bay burglaries. Sgt. Brian Whigam of the sheriff’s department said that deputies responded to a residential burglary alarm at the 7600 block of Conquistador Court in Granite Bay. “This burglary was similar to the others we’ve had in the area,” Whigam said. “The door was kicked in. This time the suspect left behind a shoe print.” At the same time patrol deputies stopped a vehicle occupied by Jason Rogers, 28, of Citrus Heights and Dennis Allen, 23, of North Highlands. The traffic stop was not far from the crime scene, Whigam said. Deputies investigating the burglary contacted one of the officers at the traffic stop. “The deputy asked if someone could check the men’s shoes,” Whigam said. It was later learned that Rogers’ shoeprint matched the one at Conquistador Court. A search of Jason Roger’s residence revealed stolen jewelry from five previous residential burglaries in Granite Bay. Whigham said both men were arrested on burglary and conspiracy charges. Both were booked into the Placer County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000 for Allen and $245,000 for Rogers. Whigam said that Allen posted bail on Friday and was released. ~ Staff reports
