The lawyer-and-cop team of Dismas Hardy and Abe Glisky reappear in the newest legal thriller by novelist John Lescroart, and Roseville residents can hear all about them.

The New York Times bestselling author will talk about his book, “Damage,” during a brunch sponsored by the Roseville Public Library Foundation on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Hawks Restaurant in Granite Bay.

The Davis-based writer has authored 16 books, with most focusing on the criminal justice system and set in the San Francisco Bay Area, including “A Plague of Secrets,” “Betrayal,” “Hard Evidence” and “The 13th Juror.” His work has been printed in 16 languages and published in more than 75 countries.

The author’s brunch serves as a fundraiser for the Roseville Public Library Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides supplementary support for Roseville’s three libraries.

“With all the budget cuts at the state and federal levels, the library system just isn’t getting the funds they need to purchase new books and expand technology to make e-books more accessible,” said foundation board member Caroline Cormier.

The foundation hopes to raise $10,000 from the special event and spark an appreciation among residents for local libraries so they continue to contribute in the future.

Cormier has lived in Roseville for 12 years and has served on the foundation’s board for two years.

“I just love the Roseville city libraries,” she said. “I love everything about them.”
