Crime log: Stolen cars, residential burglaries, gun shots

Nov. 8

A bounce house and other equipment was stolen from church in the 1500 block of Eureka Road.

Nov. 9

Sometime overnight, a Honda Accord was stolen from the 1100 block of Dartmouth Avenue. On Nov. 10, it was located in Sacramento, stripped.

Nov. 10

At 5:10 p.m., a tanning salon in the 9200 block of Sierra College Boulevard was robbed by a male who walked in and demanded cash from the cash register. The employee gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, and he left, running away on foot. No weapon was mentioned or seen, and no injuries were reported.

Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., residents in the 2300 block of Thistle Down Drive and the 1300 block of Champion Oaks Drive reported a suspicious man going door to door, claiming to be from a telephone or cable company (at one house, he claimed to be from three different local cable/phone companies), asking questions and seemingly trying to talk his way into residences. 

Sometime overnight, a Toyota 4-Runner was stolen from the 500 block of Gibson Drive.

Someone smashed the front door of a hair salon at 901 Sunrise Ave. and took cash from the cash register and hair-care products.

At about 8:15 p.m., police dispatchers received calls from several residents in the neighborhood near Blue Oaks and Woodcreek Oaks boulevards who reportedly heard four or five gunshots. Officers checked the area, but didn’t find any signs of problems.

Nov. 11

An unknown suspect went into an apartment complex garage in the 1500 block of Secret Ravine Parkway and broke into the resident’s car that was parked inside, taking out the stereo system and an iPod. 

Nov. 12

Around 5:15 p.m., catalytic converters were stolen from a few vehicles parked near Nordstrom at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville. An Asian male (no further description) was seen acting suspiciously next to one of the victim vehicles. He drove away in an older red pickup.
