During the daytime hours, someone kicked the front door and burglarized a home in the 1600 block of Vernon Street.
At 12:30 a.m., someone sprayed a car on Casterbridge Court with a fire extinguisher and left the fire extinguisher on the vehicle owner’s front porch. The fire extinguisher had been stolen from Mahany Park. The suspects may have been driving a black or dark blue van. At about 3 a.m. the same morning, someone threw an unknown heavy object at the door of a home on Pepper Tree Court, damaging the paint on the door.
Sometime overnight, someone kicked the door of a house in the 900 block of Trehowell Drive in a possible burglary attempt. No one got in and nothing was taken. In a separate instance, between 7:15 a.m. and 5 p.m., someone kicked the front door of a home in the 1600 block of Vernon Street and took a laptop and an e-reader. In this case, a man was seen loitering near the victim’s house in the morning, described as a white male adult, about 20 years old, clean-shaven, riding a mountain bike.
At 4:45 a.m., the Roseville Fire Department responded to and extinguished a dumpster fire on Sierra College Boulevard near Roseville Parkway. A red BMW four-door sedan was seen leaving the lot as the fire started. The fire didn’t spread beyond the dumpster.
Sometime between Jan. 10 and 17, three catalytic converters were stolen from a parking lot in the 1700 block of Taylor Road during daytime hours.
Between 6 and 7 p.m., someone smashed the window of a vehicle parked in a fitness center in the 300 block of N. Sunrise Avenue and took the purse the victim had left on the front passenger seat, covered with a blanket.
Catalytic converters were stolen from two vehicles, a Hyundai SUV and a Nissan pickup, in the Taylor Road/Interstate 80 Park and Ride sometime during the day.
At 3 a.m., someone smashed the front window of a store in the 1800 block of Douglas Boulevard and took the bolted floor safe. An alarm activated and officers responded, but the burglar was gone before officers arrived.
Sometime overnight, someone tampered with a water flow device at an apartment complex at 1098 Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard, causing water to flood the parking lot.
At about 1:48 a.m., someone kicked the front door of a house in the 1300 block of Ridgecrest Way. The would-be burglar didn’t go into the house, possibly scared off by the alarm sounding. No suspects were seen.
Sometime before Jan. 23, someone shot windows at Sierra Gardens Elementary School with a BB gun.
