Crime Log: Late February sees weapons and drug arrests in RosevilleBy: Press Tribune staff

Around 10:25 a.m., a thief stole the hubcaps off a car that was parked in the 1600 block of East Roseville Parkway. Witnesses saw a white male in his 60s with gray hair driving away. The suspect was behind the wheel of a purple Dodge Caravan.
At an unknown hour, an Acura sedan was stolen from the 2500 block of Hayden Parkway. Three days later the car was found abandoned in the 2500 block of Ranchland Way. Thieves had torn its stereo out.
Just after 9:30 a.m., a resident shopping at Trader Joe’s in Roseville Square was the victim of a pick-pocketing maneuver. The victim lost a wallet and credit cards. Roseville police said some of the missing credit cards were soon used at another business in the city.
During the mid-morning or late afternoon, a thief stole a Haro BMX bike from a bike rack at Silverado Middle School. Roseville police said a possible suspect was seen in the area: He is described as a male between 15 and 18 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with horizontal black strips over a dark green t-shirt, tan shorts and black skater shoes.
Between 8:38 and 9:38 p.m., someone broke into a vehicle in the 1000 block of Orlando Street, stealing its registration and insurance paperwork. A late 1980s model Toyota Camry station wagon was spotted in the area. Witnesses said the station wagon was being driven by a heavyset woman.
Around 9 a.m., a would-be burglar broke into a newly constructed house on Enzie Court. Roseville police said the suspect was seen fleeing from the scene. He is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s, 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a small build. He was wearing a red fleece jacket.
Between 1:30 and 2:15 p.m., someone broke the window of a car parked in the 1500 block of Vineyard Road and stole its stereo, an iPod and cash.
Some time during the night, a suspect broke into a storage shed in the 100 block of Ascot Road. Police reported that clothing, books, DVDs and other items were taken during the intrusion.
Just after 1:30 a.m., a Roseville police officer on patrol stopped a car near Atlantic Street and Yosemite Street. The driver, Rene Leonard McCrae, 45, had an outstanding arrest warrant from Sacramento County. Roseville police said a search of McCrae’s vehicle revealed a loaded handgun, heroin and codeine. McCrae was arrested on male warrant, as well as being a felon in possession of a loaded weapon, possession of narcotics, and other charges. McCrae is in custody at the Placer County Jail.
At 10:20 p.m., Roseville police officers were alerted to reports of a reckless driver swerving around roads in the area of Cirby Way and Northridge Drive. Spotting the suspect, officers conducted a traffic stop. Police said a search of the vehicle yielded a concealed weapon, a variety of prescription narcotics and illegal drugs packaged for sale. Cyrus Abraham Cole, 32, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of DUI, possession of drugs for sale and other related charges. He is still in custody at the Placer County Jail.
