Kelli's Cookies host fundraiser festival Sunday, Nov. 28
-A +A
Kelli’s Cookies in Roseville may bill itself as baking up the “best cookies on earth.” But the local bakery also dishes out Cookies for a Cause with its fundraiser festival Sunday, Nov. 28. Stop by the shop that day for family friendly fun, including holiday crafts for kids, pictures with Santa Claus and raffle prizes. The event will feature goodie bags for the first 100 children who arrive, artwork and handcrafted jewelry from Cambodia and free chair massages by Body Serenity. Students and teachers with CB Music Studios will fill the air with Christmas songs. All proceeds from the event benefit Agape International Missions, a nonprofit organization that fights child sex trafficking in Cambodia. The Christian humanitarian organization also provides aftercare services for rescued kids and builds community centers in sex-trafficking hotspots. While you’re at the Cookies for a Cause event, recharge your energy for holiday shopping by taste-testing some of the bakery’s famous gourmet delights, such as the chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin and pumpkin pecan white chocolate cookies. The bakery also has several sugar-free options for diabetics. Kelli’s Cookies, which opened in 1998, prides itself on selling healthier cookies than those bought in the grocery store. They use fresh egg whites, discarding the yolk where fat and cholesterol hides. They use real butter as opposed to margarine, which contains trans fat. The cookies contain no preservatives. Cookies for a Cause takes place from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at Kelli’s Cookies, 605 Douglas Blvd. in Roseville. The event is free and open to the public.
