City announces holiday closures
By: Craig Robinson, City Manager, Roseville
City Hall offices at 311 Vernon St. will be closed for the holidays from Dec. 25 through Jan. 4, reopening Jan. 5, 2009. Emergency city services such as police and fire protection will be fully operational during this period. As a citizen you won’t notice a difference if you call for police or fire services or call the utilities department for an outage. All emergency services will be fully operational, and refuse pick-ups will continue as scheduled. During this time, utility payments will be accepted online, over the phone, through the mail, and from the drop box in the Civic Center parking lot. Building permits and inspection requests should be scheduled prior to Dec. 24. The Riley Library, Utility Exploration Center and the Roseville Sports Complex will remain open. The Downtown and Maidu libraries and the Maidu Interpretive Center will be closed. The city’s holiday closure program is designed to help the city reduce leave liability, resulting in future cost savings. Under the program, city employees take the days off as regular accumulated vacation time, or employees may volunteer to take one or more days off without pay.
