The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County was recently recognized as an outstanding partner by United Way California Capitol Region for its support during United Way's annual giving campaign. CAPC of Placer County is a true advocate for workplace giving, said Steve Heath, the president of United Way Capitol Region in a statement. The award shows CAPC of Placer County's dedication to forming a partnership with United Way that resulted in a 24 percent increase in employee giving last year. I am so proud of our team, said DeAnne Thorton, the CAPC executive director. As the only nonprofit to receive the star award, our success proves that even a small group can make a big difference.
