Chase bank in Roseville robbedBy: Scott Thomas Anderson, Editor
Roseville police are searching for a man who pulled off a bank robbery this afternoon at the Chase branch on Douglas Boulevard.
According to police, the suspect walked into the bank around 2:28 p.m., approached a teller and then handed over a note demanding money. After getting his hands on an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled, getting into the backseat of what witnesses describe as a faded silver Toyota Camry sedan. Roseville police said there were two other individuals in the car waiting for the robber.
The getaway car was eventually discovered abandoned in a nearby neighborhood.
"It had been stolen last night or this morning from the area of Florin Road and Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento," Roseville police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said of the Toyota. "It's unknown what other vehicle the suspects might now be driving."
The robber is described as having dark hair and a tan or olive complexion. He was wearing a black beret, black rimmed glasses, a beige pea coat, scarf, white button-down shirt and dark slacks. Police said the suspect never visibly brandished a weapon.
Gunther said the robbery is being investigated by the Roseville Police Department and the FBI. Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916)783-STOP. The public can also call the FBI at (916) 481-9110 or submit tips online by visiting the Roseville Police Department's website. All tips can remain anonymous.
