Changing - for the betterBy: Michelle Carl, Press Tribune editor
I’m back! After 3 1/2 months of leave to have my baby , I’ve returned to edit the Press Tribune.
Wesley Felix Carl was born June 16, weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces. He is a happy baby boy and I’ve enjoyed having these last few months to get to know the new love of my life.
While there have been so many changes in my life (surviving on four hours sleep, clothes that don’t fit, rattles and burp rags strewn about the house), there have been just as many changes here at the PT this summer.
We’ve become a once weekly paper, coming out on Fridays.
Walking back onto the job this week has been a bit surreal — there’s a whole new work flow, a brand new reporter (Scott Thomas Anderson) and a new reason to make sure I leave the office by 6 p.m. (a smiling baby to greet me when I get home).
While transitioning to being a working mom is going to take some getting used to, I feel it’s great timing for a fresh start. With the new weekly tabloid format, there’s opportunity to rethink our print product and our website.
I’d love to hear what you like (or what you don’t) so that we can tailor your newspaper to you – our reader.
