Chamber checkpoint: Want a challenge? Try being principal for a day
By: Wendy Gerig
21st annual program scheduled for Oct. 4
One of the major reasons for relocation to our area by businesses, their employees and their families is the quality of education our local school districts offer. Want to find out firsthand what our local schools are doing right? If so, then consider participating in our 21st annual Principal for a Day program scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4. Local chamber members will have the opportunity to “shadow” a school principal for half a day and have their eyes opened to what a school day looks like in the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District, Eureka Union School District, Roseville City School District and Roseville Joint Union High School District. For more information, call Roseville Chamber of Commerce at (91) 783-8136. Last call to sign up your business to participate in Roseville Chamber’s Harvest Festival and Business Fair on Sunday, Oct. 9 at The Fountains at Roseville from noon to 4:00 p.m. This family-focused event is free and open to the public and will feature something for everyone — performances, nonprofit organizations, Roseville Police and Fire Departments, health and fitness, and support from various businesses in the community showcasing their products and services all while attendees meander through the lovely lifestyle center at The Fountains. The weather is going to be delightful so pack up the family and support our local businesses. Heads up Roseville and Granite Bay retail businesses: We’re coming to see you and your shopping centers! Plans are underway for our third annual Listening to Business event scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 12. This year we will be walking and talking with our smaller retailers. We will start with a kick off at 9:30 a.m. at Brandman University where we will receive our assignments and then hit the streets. We anticipate wrapping up by noon. Want to help? Call Cathy Macaulay in our office at (916) 783-3997 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. It’s not too soon to talk about the holidays since most of the major retailers are already selling decorations … so here I go! Mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 19 starting at 3:00 p.m. in Downtown Roseville as we celebrate the 50th annual Sylvia Besana Holiday Parade followed by the tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Stay tuned for more details!
