Celebrity Bowling Classic at Strikes in Rocklin

What: Strikes Unlimited and other area businesses have partnered for the inaugural Celebrity Bowling Classic to benefit the American Red Cross. Scheduled to appear are Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, MMA fighter Ken Shamrock and basketball star Ruthie Bolton. The host is former NFL player Adrian Ross.

When/Where: 3-7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Strikes Unlimited in Rocklin.

Gnarly Neon 5K fun run in Roseville

 

What: Color-themed fun run and family event for the Placer County Fair Association “Save the Fair Benefit.”

When/Where: 10 a.m. Sunday, March 17, at the Placer County Fairgrounds, 800 All America City Blvd., Roseville.

Cost: $40 general, $35 for a group rate, $25 for kids.

Woodcreek to hold summer boys soccer camp

 

When/Where: June 24-27 at the Woodcreek High School football stadium. The camp lasts from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. June 24.

Cost: The camp is open to boys entering second through eighth grades and costs are $90 per player and $75 for additional siblings.

Lost Trail Half Marathon and 5K run/walk

 

When/Where: 8 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Granite Beach at Folsom Lake.

Cost: Half marathon is $60 before race day and $70 on race day. The 5K run/walk is $45 before race day and $50 on race day. The fee includes a tech-tee race shirt, goody bag and hot meal. All finishers in the half marathon will receive a custom finisher’s medal.

What: Individual and team cross-country race, plus big air and wheelie contests.

TBF Racing Mountain Bike Triathlon

 

What: Entry-level off-road triathlon with a 200-yard swim, six-mile mountain bike and two-mile trail run.

When/Where: 8 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Granite Beach at Folsom Lake.

Cost: $60 before race day and $70 on race day; relay teams, $90 before race day and $100 on race day. The fee includes awards, raffle prizes, post-race food and tech-tee race shirt.

XTERRA REAL Mountain Bike Triathlon

 

What: Half-mile swim, 16-mile mountain bike and 3.5-mile run. The event is part of the XTERRA America Tour and is sanctioned by the USAT.

Cost: $110 before race day and $120 on race day; relay teams, $120 before race day and $140 on race day; $12 for a required one-day license with the USAT.
