Car wash to benefit older adults

Money will go to campaign to build community room

Employees at Eskaton Lodge Granite Bay are loading up on soap and suds in preparation for a car wash Saturday.

Proceeds from the car wash will go toward Dare to Dream 2012, a campaign to raise money to build a new community room for Lodge residents.

“My staff care deeply for the residents, and we are eager to wash those cars and raise some money,” said Eskaton Lodge Granite Bay Administrator Vicky Cross. “This is a great way for us to participate in the campaign — and to feel proud when we see the room become a reality.”

Dare to Dream 2012 was launched by Eskaton Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Eskaton, with a goal of raising $295,000 by July 31, 2012. More than half of that goal has already been secured.

With a mission to enhance the quality of life of seniors, Eskaton is the largest, community-based nonprofit serving older adults in northern California.
