Candidates announce plans to run for Roseville school boards

Four local school districts will have several seats open in November election

The four local school districts will have seats open on their boards to be filled in the November election.

Roseville City School District will have two seats available with terms expiring for current board President Gary Miller and Susan Goto. Miller has announced his intention to run for re-election. Goto is undecided.

Eureka Union School District will have two vacant seats as terms expire for Kristie Greiss and Ryan Jones. Jones told the Press Tribune he plans to run for re-election. Greiss didn’t return a request for comment. Former president of the Eureka Schools Foundation Renee Nash has announced her candidacy.

Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District will have two seats vacant with terms ending for Scott Otsuka and Jeff Randall. Otsuka intends to run for re-election and Randall is currently undecided as to whether he will run again.

Roseville Joint Union High School District will have three seats open with terms expiring for board President Garry Genzlinger, R. Jan Pinney and Paige Stauss. Pinney is undecided and Stauss plans to run for re-election. Genzlinger didn’t return a request for comment.

High school board member Linda Park, elected in 2010, announced plans to challenge incumbent Beth Gaines for Assembly District 6.
