Can’t we meet in the middle?

As I was reading about the stubbornness of both political parties to compromise, I was reminded of a saying which could apply here. The saying is “Do you love your children more than you hate your ex.” I wish both parties would think about this. We should love our country more than we hate each other’s ideology. Failure to compromise will further bring our country down. Do we really have to be at the brink of disaster before the right wing and liberal left meet in the middle? Every day we make compromises in our lives. It shouldn’t be too hard for those in Washington to come together and do likewise. Rosalie Wohlfromm, Auburn
