Calling all cat lovers

‘Catapawlooza’ May 4 at Placer SPCA
-A +A

In honor of cat lovers everywhere, the Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will host “Catapawlooza” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at 150 Corporation Yard Road, Roseville. To honor feline friends, this year's event will be cat-themed.

The Placer SPCA asks that cats be left at home to limit their stress. However, well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.

This free event will feature cat-themed carnival games, raffle prizes, adoption specials and more. Vendors will sell a variety of cat- and dog-friendly items. To see a list of all vendors attending, visit

Have questions answered at the “Ask a Vet” and “Ask an Animal Behaviorist” booths, or swing by the pet psychic, for a different approach. Purchase one-of-a-kind paw art from resident adoptable artists, Vincent Van Gatto and Meow-net. Paw paintings will be on display next to their artist’s cat-condo. All proceeds will benefit the Placer SPCA.

To encourage qualified adopters to provide just forever homes, Placer SPCA is waiving adoption fees for all cats during “Catapawlooza.” All animals adopted from the Placer SPCA have received a behavior assessment; spay or neuter surgery; testing for FELV and FIV; rabies and FVRCP vaccines; and a microchip. Adopters receive a voucher for a free veterinary exam.
