Cassie Benning and Dani Judal, both 16, qualified for the USA Gymnastics Level 10 National Championships in Long Beach. Amanda Presswood, 15, and Shani Remme, 13, qualified for the Level 9 Western National Championships in San Diego.

Benning and Judal are two of seven national qualifiers in their age group from Region 1. They also will compete as part of the regional team. This is their 10th year with Byers. Benning will compete on May 13, her 17th birthday.

“They qualified to the highest competition for Level 10s in the country,” Bruns said. “This is a very prestigious event.”

Benning finished second in the all-around competition with a score of 37.575 at the Regional Championship in Anaheim. She placed third on bars and floor, fifth on vault and ninth on beam. Judal was fifth all-around with a score of 37.35. That included a second-place finish on bars with a 9.5. Judal also was sixth on floor and seventh on vault and beam.
