-A +A

The Blue Line Gallery presents Storytelling by Irv Marcus, which includes several large paintings and drawings.

“They are masterpieces of color and characters that will tickle everyone’s fancy,” according to a Roseville Arts press release. “His wild colors and figures make up a narrative that draws the viewer into the work.”

Marcus’s work has been featured in more than 40 solo exhibits in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other U.S. cities. He has participated in more than 75 group shows, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Brooklyn Museum, Library of Congress and galleries in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.

Marcus worked as an art professor at California State University, Sacramento from 1959 to 1991.

“I have admired his work for 35 years,” said Blue Line art consultant Tony Natsoulas, in the release. “We are very excited to show Irv's work. This is the first time most of the pieces will be seen.”
