Blue Line call to artists: “Layered and Stitched"
Blue Line Arts in Roseville California is partnering up with the Studio Art Quilts Associates to have Northern California/Northern Nevada members participate in an exhibition highlighting art quilts in the WestPark Workshop Gallery.
The juror will be Merle Axelrad, whose fabric collages are in numerous public, corporate and private collections, including those of the Ritz-Carlton, Kaiser Permanente, the University of California at Davis Medical Center and the California Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, her work was featured in exhibitions at museums and galleries, including the Dennos Art Museum in Traverse City, Mich., California State Museum in Sacramento and Entrée Libre in New York City.
Exhibition dates are June 6 through July 13. Deadline to enter is midnight April 19. Entries are open to SAQA members only (visit saqa.com to become a member.) Work cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line. All work must be ready to hang and must have an integral wire to hang directly and securely on the wall. Size limit is 36 inches wide and 60 inches tall. 3D work will be accepted, but will have to fit on a 24-inch pedestal.
Cost to submit entries is $30 for the first three pieces (six images) and $5 each additional entry. Enter at rosevillearts.org/exhibits/calls.htm.
