A new Sports Clips location is opening at the corner of Pleasant Grove and Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard, and owner Kevin Henkel is ringing in the grand opening by helping raise funds to discover a cure for blood cancers.

Henkel will offer the public a free precision haircut in exchange for a $10 donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The offer runs from Dec. 22 to 24. Henkel said he hopes to raise $4,000 for research into blood cancers, an often deadly illness currently affecting more than one million people in North America. In Henkel’s release, he pointed out that every 10 minutes someone dies of leukemia or lymphoma.

Sports Clips is a franchise that specializes in neck and shoulder massage, steam towel treatment and haircuts while customers relax watching sports television. Grand opening hours for Sports Clips are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
