Biz Buzz: Bushnell Gardens host workshop with Baldo Villegas

Bushnell Gardens will host a rose pruning workshop on Jan. 25 with Baldo Villegas from Sacramento Rose Society. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon and offers advice on maintaining live rose bushes, including man­aging the canes, max­i­mizing blooms and reducing dis­ease. Part of the demonstration will be in the Bushnell courtyard: Attendees are advised to dress for the weather and be ready to get dirty with the hands-on por­tion of the workshop. Roseville-area IHOP locations will be giving away pancakes to the public in celebration of National Pancake Day Feb. 5. IHOP said it hopes people stopping by will help it raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit group that helps fund special hospitals for kids. Representatives for IHOP noted the Children’s Miracle Network is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The Rocklin IHOP is at 6751 Stanford Ranch Road. 

Roseville marketing firm Augustine Ideas has landed Mission Foods as a new client.  Mission Foods is a major distributor for chips, tortillas, salsa and corn. A spokesman for Augustine Ideas said the firm would be helping Mission in a variety areas, including graphic design, shopper marketing and public relations around in-store programs and events.

The Koko Fit Club of Roseville and Granite Bay will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 25 for its new location at 9213 Sierra College Blvd., Suite 150. Koko Fit Club is known for specialized workout and nutrition plans. The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce said the ribbon-cutting starts at 2:45 p.m.
